finally there's a spring day around here, so I took the afternoon off. leisurely time at starbucks and a lengthy stroll around Target and I'm a happy girl.

These rooms above drew me in more than anyothers in awhile. I love the red clock and the bright containers on the stairs - which only pop out because of all the white and black surrounding them. Lovely!
Hello, friends! Hope today finds you doing well and that you have some great weather! (yes, it must be time to talk about the weather - again!) It's gray and rainy but it doesn't bother me because I find it more fun to add pops of color to make the day all cheery! Will be moving some colorful accessories around at home and work and will toss on my cerise scarf to cheer up a black and white outfit!
Worked with the youth group at church last night and was pie-ed in the face for the first time ever. Ever. Yes, I know, how could I get through life thus far without that happening?! It was a trivia contest between the students and leaders and my student was asked to recite John 3:16 - a verse many people know by heart. I knew at that moment I was done for. Yep. Was worth it though to see the smiles of the girls in my group!

A colorful weekend snapshot from Olivelse!
Quiet weekend here. Played Settlers of Catan with friends last night, will have a movie night with more friends tonight, and then tomorrow is Easter - so it's church and then dinner with family.

What a cheery writing corner from Fjeldborg! It's more yellow and white...so very cheerful. (ahh..cheery and cheerful!)
It's been quite a week. So very busy there's little time to take a breath much less peruse lovely blogs, leave comments or tell stories here! And then it's Easter weekend - quite the celebration for me, my family and my church family! I'll be going to a couple services at church ("Upstairs Church" - what I call the adult/family services offered at the church and then the teen service - run by teens for teens - downstairs in the huge gym with the youth pastor giving the message each week. He's calling his sermon this week "epic" so I want to be there to hear it*!)
After church, it'll be a mad dash to drive to one of my brothers' homes (one of two brothers - his house..not a brother who has two homes..although one brother DOES have two homes - he flipped one and is waiting for it to sell). Easter dinner with family then a leisurely drive home to see friends.
With no time to hang out here, I've also had little time for television or movies. Wondering what's good out? I want to see Hop, Paul, and Soul Surfer and Arthur.

These items from olivelse are perfect for spring! I've been looking around for deck inspiration for the warm weather - when it decides to arrive! (today is icy rain and cold temps. brrr. good day for hazelnut coffee and small space heaters!).
I have to admit to dreaming of warmer weather, lazy evenings on the deck with friends or just alone - watching the sun set.
From the pictures below, my favorite has the pink chairs and the chandelier!

It snowed last night. Really. So to counteract a gray day, here's some yellow! I've had the color on my brain all weekend, and so has frenchbydesign. Must be a spring thing because almost a year ago to the day, I posted a series of yellow items, with the kitchen above being my favorite room.
Then poppytalk has had a penchant for yellow as well.

My sister-in-law Maya takes gorgeous photos of her family so I had to share some with you from her recent trip to Milwaukee with my brother and their kids (her sister even makes an appearance).

After catching a glimpse of Julia's London flat on Apartment Therapy (with a post title of Design Minded Organization in a London Flat I had to take a look!), I researched and found dozens of photos of her flat on her Flickr pages. I love that Julia likes cute things and has found creative ways to showcase or stow away those items. Some of my favorites below include the mirror tiles on the bathroom window, the use of the window ledge for storage, the artwork everywhere, the way she incorporated IKEA items into her non-typically-IKEA looking flat, and her personalized-with-Liberty-fabrics dressers.

I'm back! I have been taking care of some personal situations so posting has been scarce. It'll pick up speed now that I'm back. Spent a long weekend away with kids from church for a youth conference and just getting away was refreshment enough!
