So colorful. I love it and must now find a piece of storage for my dining area that I can paint a wonderfully bright color like this!
loving these lights on a french patio
Loving the bedroom nook below that looks quite cozy.
Have caught a summer cold that is racing around town. Have had to stay home but it's given me a day of rest, reading, and naps. Tomorrow it's back to normal!
A ray of sunshine came out over the weekend, and I galloped after it with my camera, snapping our recently revamped cushion selection on the sofa.
Sofa cushions L-R: Vintage fabric cushion from Nice Work; tapestry cushion by me; vintage orange cushion by Absoluut (shop closed); vintage Mary White fabric cover by 35 Flowers; another one by Absoluut.
Gorgeous cushions that make me want to pile ten more onto my couch!
loving the yellow + red
Enjoy these wedding photos by davidone of a French couple who wanted a wedding with a circus theme. It's done so chicly I wouldn't be surprised if more couples chose a circus theme for their weddings! If the photos here don't provide enough of a glimpse, all the photos can be found on davidone's site.
in my house consistently has some of my favorite interior photos - and it's all of their house!
It's a quiet, rainy saturday morning and I would like to do two things today: attend a tour of my high school on this day of the reunion and post some items for sale on craigslist. What are you doing today?
what a beautiful, bright kitchen!
It's early morning here, preparing to go to an aqua fitness class to start the day. Feels luxurious to begin the day in the water!
We're facing a holiday weekend, and I've planned lots of non-planned things - like puttering around the home office and kitchen - decluttering and moving pretty things around.
What will you be doing this weekend?
Design*Sponge did a "best loved peeks" post and shared some of the most popular sneak peeks they've ever posted. Here are some of my favorites. I especially love the colorful home shown in the final three photos. Hope you have a great weekend!
Good morning from an odd Wisconsin day that will hold sun, high temperatures, rain, hail and thunderstorms. Great day to see a baseball game (in a dome, luckily). With the weather battling itself outside, here inside I'm admiring the fresh new hall by Ingrid via fjeldborg.
In Ingrid's words, "..Some wires hanging and throw, and the FINE door to be painted shiny white. That's it! So delicious with freshly ground lists, ready-cabinet door and several boxes for storage."
This family home is everything I want my home to be:
I'd move in tomorrow if they'd allow me to!
Am looking forward to a low-key weekend. I have one event: a seven year old's birthday party. Am supremely happy with these lack of plans because it's been one heck of a week with too much going on and no evenings at home.
What do you have planned this weekend?
It's 6:44 AM. Am procrastinating going to the grocery store even though I know it'll be nice and quiet this early in the morning. Tonight is another Game Night here thus it should rightly be called Sloppy Joe Night for that is part of the attraction to bring the men to this apartment. (hmmm..that doesn't sound quite right). Perhaps the guests will not care that my closet is now in perfect order - a quest that has taken four years to accomplish. I may want to turn my attention to other rooms such as the kitchen and living room for a quick tidy and sparkle!
What are your Saturday stories of what you're doing today?
I almost wish I were decorating with tape using lessons I learned from Boligliv magazine!
Gotta say. I have a little bit of a crush on this guy - Chris O'Dowd - the officer from Bridesmaids.
What a light, bright home in Finland! I had to select one set of photos to include here....go check out the full post. Worth it, I tell ya!
What a nice place to live when your messy days are still beautiful days.
Beautiful. Loving the blues and greens. And the whole imperfectness of it all.
While wandering through Target the other day with a friend, we checked out the clearance offerings on endcaps. Found two sets of five-hook fixtures that were adorable: one white and one black. $10 each. I snapped them up as my giftcard would easily cover the cost.
"I love hooks and would put all my clothing on them, even underwear", I pretty-much-shouted to my friend. She didn't fall for it...and questioned the underwear part. She has a point. I will continue to hide unmentionables away in drawers but everything else is fair game.
I then stumble upon this pretty blog where the author has just redone a corner of her bedroom to include two hook fixturs to tidy up her hoodies and scarves. (note: I kept staring at the photo, wondering what the cute little room was around the half-wall when I realized I was staring at the reflection of the bedroom in a mirror. nice.)
Here's the "before":

Greetings! Good to be here again! I've been collecting photos for my dream house journal.
A kind youth pastor at my church has declared that when he is rich, he is going to provide me my dream house based on this blog.
Well then, no time like the present to get started! How about some photos from around homes that I'd like in my Dream Home!

if I were French.....
here would be my village, my house, and my kitchen in that house.
Deco My Place has the cutest photos from users like this one from Amanda Johnson.
More photos can be found here.
yep. cute as can be. and so simple. appealing for the wannabe minimalist that I am!
finally there's a spring day around here, so I took the afternoon off. leisurely time at starbucks and a lengthy stroll around Target and I'm a happy girl.
Now for a nap then..who knows?!
now HERE is some color for a gray, rainy day! or any day actually!
These rooms above drew me in more than anyothers in awhile. I love the red clock and the bright containers on the stairs - which only pop out because of all the white and black surrounding them. Lovely!
Hello, friends! Hope today finds you doing well and that you have some great weather! (yes, it must be time to talk about the weather - again!) It's gray and rainy but it doesn't bother me because I find it more fun to add pops of color to make the day all cheery! Will be moving some colorful accessories around at home and work and will toss on my cerise scarf to cheer up a black and white outfit!
Worked with the youth group at church last night and was pie-ed in the face for the first time ever. Ever. Yes, I know, how could I get through life thus far without that happening?! It was a trivia contest between the students and leaders and my student was asked to recite John 3:16 - a verse many people know by heart. I knew at that moment I was done for. Yep. Was worth it though to see the smiles of the girls in my group!
What am I doing? You don't want to read all about my night....you want to see photos! of black and white rooms! So go on..... scroll down. Enjoy!
what a cute, cozy, comfy, lived-in, napping-would-be-ideal bedroom from the Marion House!
marta makes THE cutest little diaries! and this last photo makes me smile :)
What a cheery writing corner from Fjeldborg! It's more yellow and white...so very cheerful. (ahh..cheery and cheerful!)
It's been quite a week. So very busy there's little time to take a breath much less peruse lovely blogs, leave comments or tell stories here! And then it's Easter weekend - quite the celebration for me, my family and my church family! I'll be going to a couple services at church ("Upstairs Church" - what I call the adult/family services offered at the church and then the teen service - run by teens for teens - downstairs in the huge gym with the youth pastor giving the message each week. He's calling his sermon this week "epic" so I want to be there to hear it*!)
After church, it'll be a mad dash to drive to one of my brothers' homes (one of two brothers - his house..not a brother who has two homes..although one brother DOES have two homes - he flipped one and is waiting for it to sell). Easter dinner with family then a leisurely drive home to see friends.
With no time to hang out here, I've also had little time for television or movies. Wondering what's good out? I want to see Hop, Paul, and Soul Surfer and Arthur.
*Bryan, the youth pastor's messages can be heard and/or downloaded online here for free! Enjoy.
These items from olivelse are perfect for spring! I've been looking around for deck inspiration for the warm weather - when it decides to arrive! (today is icy rain and cold temps. brrr. good day for hazelnut coffee and small space heaters!).
I have to admit to dreaming of warmer weather, lazy evenings on the deck with friends or just alone - watching the sun set.
From the pictures below, my favorite has the pink chairs and the chandelier!
It snowed last night. Really. So to counteract a gray day, here's some yellow! I've had the color on my brain all weekend, and so has frenchbydesign. Must be a spring thing because almost a year ago to the day, I posted a series of yellow items, with the kitchen above being my favorite room.
Then poppytalk has had a penchant for yellow as well.
What beautiful tape! Ereleperle's husband surprised her with the tapes above. How lucky is she?!
My sister-in-law Maya takes gorgeous photos of her family so I had to share some with you from her recent trip to Milwaukee with my brother and their kids (her sister even makes an appearance).
Thanks for letting me indulge in some family photos. Will be back soon with some more lovely interiors!
