QUESTION: Do you ever feel overwhelmed by all the information available to read, watch, etc.?
I have a ton of French Chic yahoo group email digests to catch up on (from last wednesday to today), I have a long list in my DVR of shows I've recorded - so I want to watch those; I have a stack of library books and books people have loaned me....... so with each "to-do/read/handle" item, I feel more closed in, like I have walls around me and I have this long hallway to walk where I've got info stacked and stacked in towers around me.. not to mention paperwork to sort, cleaning to do, workouts to complete, letters to write, phone calls to make and emails to return - all this in addition to work, church, volunteer, family and friend activities/commitments.
I subscribe to flylady and love her ideas (am not putting it all into practice at the moment); I get French Chic emails as well as having read the Anne Barone series of books about having a minimal household to maintain so that I can spend more time with friends and family. Is there something I'm missing?
I'd love to approach all those things with joy and anticipation - enjoying the email posts and the blogs, relaxing while watching the shows (not fast forwarding through some parts of shows so I can finish it, delete it then see what short show I can watch and delete that one to make more room on the DVR hard drive).
When I get overloaded, I "shut down" and don't do any of it...so then bills don't get paid, the DVR drive fills up, mail stacks up, emails go unread or not-responded to, and clutter begins to build. All so I can escape what seems like too much information.
how in the world do people get all of their "to-do" items done???
