This made me think of a night years ago in San Francisco at an artists' gathering where the actor Judge Reinhold, mere months after marrying his beautiful wife Amy, shared how he saw his wife, followed her into church, began a personal relationship with Jesus, then began dating his wife. I took notes as Judge spoke, and still have the quote which goes something like, "God bringing Judge and Amy together is far beyond anything either of us could dream of or manipulate."
I think of that often - that God truly does have a plan for my life and I can rest in that knowledge.
Rest! What is that like? I'm gonna try that this weekend - rest my body that has the flu and rest my mind and soul from running my life the way I think it should be.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
